Clean Air Strategy for Alberta
The Government of Alberta asked CASA to develop recommendations for a renewed Clean Air Strategy for Alberta. A project team was created in 2007 and recommendations were passed to the government in July 2009.
On June 21, the CASA board created a new project team to develop recommendations for a Clean Air Strategy for Alberta. Air quality has potentially significant effects on the well-being of Albertans and the environment. The rapid economic and population growth in the province, combined with the public’s increased awareness of health and lifestyle issues highlight the need for an update to the 1991 Clean Air Strategy for Alberta.
The team’s objective was to recommend a clean air strategy that would serve as the foundation of the Government of Alberta’s long term strategy for clean air.
