Indoor air quality

The Indoor Air Quality Project Team was dedicated to facilitating the development of comprehensive and coordinated approaches to addressing indoor air quality concerns in Alberta.

The team developed a strategic framework to address IAQ issues in Alberta by

  1. identifying a list of priority indoor air quality issues
  2. reviewing current Alberta approaches, and
  3. developing a decision tree to describe jurisdictional responsibilities in Alberta.

Indoor air quality (IAQ) is the quality of air affecting the short and long term health, safety and comfort of occupants.

The Indoor Air Quality Project Team was established in 2005, and presented its final report and recommendations to the CASA board in March 2010.

The IAQ vision: “The indoor air where people live, work and recreate will be free from physical, chemical and biological contaminants that adversely affect the health, safety and comfort of the occupants.”
